Meet Folker Hellmeyer, Chief Economist at Bremer Landesbank, the leading regional bank in Northwest Germany, author of the book ”Endlich Klartext” and known for his accurate economic outlooks, often commenting the financial markets in German and international media. He will give us his view on European economy, politics and labour markets, especially reflecting on the impact of the refugee crisis and the integration challenges. He will also comment on the outcome of the British EU referendum. After his presentation, a discussion will follow with economists from the Swedish labour market. How does the economy in Germany and Sweden respond to the refugee crisis? How can businesses and society cooperate to find new solutions for better integration? What can be done by unions, management and politics to create the jobs needed? Why does Germany succeed better in integrating newcomers on the labour market? What can we learn from each other?
