Almost 300,000 young adults looking for housing in Sweden today. That's an increase of 36% in 10 years. It is a situation they share with young people in several other countries in Europe. The young adults housing situation will be discussed based on research from Sweden and Bosnia-HercegovinaUtökad beskrivning av samhällsfrågan
By project HOLICOB develops Sweden and Bosnia-Herzegovina cooperation on young adults' living conditions. There are many similarities between the countries of the circumstances of young people to create an independent life. The basic problem is the same. Lack of access to housing that young adults can afford to pay is a common problem. Inheriting a home or to get help with the financing of the parents of the dwelling is a solution for those who are "lucky". But should it be so? What can be done? During spring 2016 a survey has been done among young adults in Sarajevo, Tuzla and Uppsala concerning the housing situation. The results shows a very complexed pattern with “luck” and contacts as main strategies to find a place to live.
