The local level – municipalities, county councils and regions across the world – are not only implementers of the Global Goals. They are also policy makers who will represent its citizens when carrying out political work and making political considerations within all their areas of responsibility to build sustainable societies for the future that contribute to the global development. The cities of the world are growing in importance and have large potential to contribute with solutions for a sustainable development. Swedish municipalities, cities and regions can play an important role from an international perspective.
